"One of the things that stands out most in my memory is the time we spent walking up and down the maternity ward during contractions. They started coming faster, more frequently, and more intensely that I expected, so it was invaluable to have you to lean on (literally!) and help me breathe through them."
"Being a first time mom, I was overwhelmed and intimidated by the process of giving birth. I wanted someone with the expertise that my husband and I lacked to be on my team. I felt like we got along well during our initial meetings, which considering the personal nature of the doula/mother relationship was very important to me, and I appreciated that you seemed to have a lot of knowledge but wouldn't pressure me to do things in a certain way. I also liked that you take on only a few clients per month to try and ensure there are no conflicts, and that you had never missed a birth, although knowing that anything can happen, it was comforting to know you work with a back up doula as well.

My main goal, if it could be accomplished safely, was to have a vaginal birth, and to feel like the birth was an overall positive experience. By working together I learned a lot about the pros and cons of the different pain management options, which made me feel prepared, and then during labor your support was hugely helpful in getting through the active labor and pushing stages. It was also great to be able to turn to you with some immediate post-partum questions.

One of the things that stands out most in my memory is the time we spent walking up and down the maternity ward during contractions. They started coming faster, more frequently, and more intensely that I expected, so it was invaluable to have you to lean on (literally!) and help me breathe through them."
