11/19/2015 0 Comments What is in a nursing caddy? My E came shooting out like a rocket, went on my chest, latched and camped there for what felt like the next 6 months. There were days (or weeks) I didn't leave my comfy nursing chair (bed or couch) until my husband came home from work. Without my handy dandy nursing cady, I would have been lost. I was able to keep my most needed items close and if I decided to move from my nursing chair to the couch it was convenient to carry all my needed things with a baby most likely still latch. Now when friends or family are having babies I put together a few of my must haves in this convenient caddy. So, what kind of caddy?Remember those handled plastic caddies you used maybe in college for your bathroom supplies carrying to and from the shower? Or those cleaning caddies you might store your cleaning supplies in from Walmart or Target? Those make PERFECT nursing caddy. They have a handle, are sturdy, and little compartments to keep everything organized. Now, lets fill it.It is very important to stay hydrated while nursing. Find the largest water bottle (or 2) that can fit in your caddy. Now you have access to water to stay hydrated through out the day. Having a large water bottle will insure as few trips as possible.
Your going to get hungry (because while nursing you might think you have some how switched stomachs with a teenage boy) find your favorite snacks. Granola bars, fruit, nuts, peanut butter crackers, etc. Very handy and can be eaten with one hand. Cell phone, Ipad, Nook, Kindle, Remote- etc. You can have your favorite books, games and of course Facebook. Because after hour 900 staring into your babies eyes while they nurse might loose its pizazz it once had and extra entertainment is needed. Pen and paper are good to keep around. Pregnancy brain doesn't really go away after the baby is born, and it is possible you might need to right things down to remember them. Nipple cream, breast shield, extra breast pads & tissues are all really good to have in there as well. These are just a few ideas that worked for me.
